Municipal schools - selection
It is incumbent upon the municipality to see to it that each child in school age, who is living in the municipality, has a place at a municipal or an independent school. If there are more applicants than places at a municipal school, the students will be admitted according to the principle of nearness at second hand and priority for siblings at third hand.
In Danderyd, special rules for placement of pupils in pre-school class and school year 1 apply. These mean, among other things, that the following order of precedence applies:
- Parents' selection
- Priority for siblings if the older sibling still goes to the school you have applied to
- Nearness
Independent schools - application date etc.
Independent schools might have other principles of admission than the municipal schools. Principles of selection allowed are among other things application date, priority for siblings and geographical nearness. Some independent schools admit the pupils in the order they have announced themselves to the school.
You who have announced your child to an independent school shall also make the school selection via Internet. The reason for this is that the municipality has to know at which school all pupils registered in Danderyd go to.
